Any switch files we host are always
encrypted to the selected recipient's
PGP public keys. Deadswitch then adds a
second layer of encryption to those
files using a uniquely generated
key-pair and passphrase. When a switch
is triggered, our system automatically
removes our own second layer of
encryption, and makes the files, with a
final layer of encryption remaining,
available for download. Only the
intended recipients are able to remove
the final layer of encryption.

Please note that due to our own threat model,
there may be times when the availability of our
service and the files we host is impacted. If
for any reason the switch files are no longer
downloadable from our servers, you may refer to
previously downloaded copies, and can use the
private key and passphrase on this page to
manually remove the Deadswitch layer of
encryption.
